Building world-class teams and people-first organizations for nearly two decades. Trusted partner to leaders navigating growth, transformation, and change.
About
Marilyn Edmunds Bowser began her career as a teacher — and that foundation has never left her. The same belief that drives great teaching drives great talent work: that people grow when they are seen, supported, and given the right conditions to thrive.
Over nearly two decades, Marilyn has built and transformed People and Operations functions across industries. As former Vice President of People Operations at a nonprofit advocating for women's issues around the globe, the highest performing network of charter schools in the nation's capital, and as a consultant supporting nonprofits and small-to-medium size businesses across the ecosystem — she has partnered with executives to design organizations where people and performance go hand in hand. She brings deep expertise in talent management, recruitment, organizational design, and learning & development — always with a writer's eye for the story an organization is trying to tell about itself.
Marilyn holds a B.S. from Saint Paul's College, a small HBCU in Virginia, and an M.S. in Education from Johns Hopkins University — a foundation that shapes both her teaching roots and her approach to developing people inside organizations.
Marilyn is a multi-hyphenate millennial — talent strategist, teacher, writer — but above all else, she is a mom, bonus mom, wife, and sister in a large tribe of women.
"When you pray, move your feet."
